Trader Joe’s, aka “Whole Foods for People That Aren’t Out of Their Minds” has a new munchie! Under the label “Trader Jacques” they have a package of five individually-moldy bries about the size of a golf ball. Made in France, they have a very thin skin and are made for a few breadsticks. I thought the list of ingredients was interesting, as well. There’s only six, with the last one being Penicillium Candidum. They are nice enough, in parenthesis, to tell us that it’s a “harmless white mold”. Frankly, I would have been OK with just Penicillium Candidum. A little mystery is nice now and then.
Anyway, these are highly munchable and you probably should bring home more than one package.
